About Us
Hope, Love and Dreams was started by two sisters, Yvette Christine Caldera Esserman and Carolyn Marie Caldera Esserman. Christine and Carolyn's grandfather, Dr. Humberto Caldera, was the first pediatric surgeon in Nicaragua. Dr. Caldera helped build the Hospital Infantil Manuel de Jesus Riveras in Managua and dedicated his life to medical care of children in Nicaragua without regard to their ability to pay for treatment. Dr. Caldera’s life tragically ended in a plane crash in 1989. Hope, Love and Dreams is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Humberto Caldera.
